The Eminence in Shadow Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, Staff, and Cast

Kadokawa has made it official – the popular dark fantasy anime "The Eminence in Shadow" will return for a second season.

The announcement was made on Feb. 22nd 2023; Kadokawa held a live stream that celebrated the first season's conclusion.

As of Feb 23rd, 2023, the second season is currently in production, but we do not have an official release date announced yet.

About the Annoucement

A brief yet ominous trailer was showcased during the event. It offered a glimpse of the Lawless City and its trio of rulers - the Spirit Fox, the Tyrant, and the Progenitor Vampire. Key visuals were also unveiled, showing off the anime's signature dark and gritty style. Returning to their roles from the previous season, Kazuya Nakanishi will once again direct the series. At the same time, Kanichi Katou and Makoto Iino will resume their duties as the composer and character designer, respectively. It is also confirmed that the Animation studio from season one, Nexus, will continue its work on the series!

According to trustworthy sources, the series's second season is expected to comprise 12 episodes. It will likely air in early 2024, although an official release date is yet to be revealed. Excitingly for fans, all the previous staff, including director Kazuya Nakanishi, composer Kanichi Katou, character designer Makoto Lino, and animation studio Nexus, are set to return for the upcoming season.

Viewers can eagerly anticipate the reappearance of their beloved characters, such as Cid Kagenou portrayed by Seichiro Yamashita, Claire Kagenou played by Rina Hidaka, Alpha depicted by Asami Seto, and Epsilon portrayed by Hisako Kanemoto. With the second season officially confirmed, fans can't wait to see what the future holds for "The Eminence in Shadow.”
